Sickness....over...hopefully!

We've been dealing with sickness with the kids for a month now. They got a cold and we thought it had gone away. Then two weeks later Madelynn and Malachi started coughing. We let it go for a week before we finally decided it wasn't getting any better. Two hours in the walk in clinic and we walked away with tons of meds. Madelynn was diagnosed with bronchitis and sinusitis. Malachi was much worse off with bronchitis, bronchiolitis, and sinusitis. Little did we know that Malachi was struggling to breath so much that he was on the verge of going into the hospital. :( Malachi taking his breathing treatments...every 4 hours.

The combined medicine basket for both kids. a total of 7 meds!
The good news is that they are now done with their antibiotics. Madelynn still has a runny nose, but seems to be a lot better. Malachi still has a runny nose and we'll continue with breathing treatments a couple times a day until the coughing and wheezing stops.

Artwork

The kids' room hasn't been painted since we were preparing the nursery. Slowly things came down off the walls because the kids pulled or knocked them off while jumping in their cribs. For a few months the walls have been bare. I decided I was going to paint their room just before their forth birthday so it was more of a 'big kid' room rather than a nursery. We chose a bright blue color! Then we created 'big kid' artwork for the walls. I bought 6 8x10 canvases and the kids each painted one and did a hand print on the other. They are all hanging on the wall and look beautiful! From left to right starting at the top. Malachi's handprint, Madelynn's painting called "Rainbow Merry-Go-Round", Aiden's handprint. Bottom row...Malachi's painting called "Frog"...which ironically looks like a frog if you turn it on it's side, Madelynn's handprint, and Aiden's artwork called "Aiden's Window".

Leaves fall in Autumn!

Sometime around the first day of Autumn, the kids came home and told us about the change in the season. Aiden said, "the leaves fall in autumn". We decided that our Autumn fun had to include playing in the leaves...especially since the weather was so nice yesterday (mid-60's). Here are my favorites...

A New Ride....

We finally got the new carseats installed into the Dodge. The middle seat is still a five point harness, but it's a bigger one that goes to 65 pounds. The outside seats are boosters to be used with regular seatbelts. I have to admit that I'm a little nervous about the step up, but the kids are super excited about their new ride!

Malachi...a fireman? EDITED

A couple weeks ago, the kids' preschool had the fire fighters come in and talk to the kids. They took pictures and this one was hanging on the wall when I picked them up one day. I LOVE this photo. Maybe my Malachi will be a fireman some day!?!EDITED***Since Corey reminded me (in the comments) about the Ton of Trucks event this past summer, I dug out the pictures of Malachi dressing up in fireman uniform and thought I'd share.

Veggie Tales Live!

Yesterday we suprised the kids and took them to see Veggie Tales Live! in Detroit! It was awesome to say the least and even the adults loved and enjoyed it as much (if not more) than the kids. Thanks Grandma Ketola for joining us. It was fun to have you with us! "Mom, why are we sitting here?" This was their level of excitement and understanding while we were waiting for the show to start!
They played Veggie Tales clips and songs on a big screen to entertain us until the show started. Malachi was in heaven!

"Hey, now its getting fun!" Intermission.

Mr. Cool waiting after the show for our meet and greet with Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber.
Aiden got a Bob the Tomato stuffed toy.

Malachi sporting his Bob hat. All three got them!
Madelynn in her Bob hat and with her Princess Petunia toy. She's a rhubarb by the way!

Daddy and Aiden!
My boys hugging Larry and Bob. They just melt my heart.

What an awesome day we had!
We had so much fun! What an opportunity for our trio!

The Dinosaurs Are Alive Once Again!

Halloween was fun this year. The kids actually went up to the door and said "trick or treat" by themselves. Malachi couldn't get the concept of opening his bag and letting them put a treat in it for him. He would do it and then he'd want to pick something from the bowl himself. Most people thought it was funny and let him do it. In the end, his bag was twice as full as the other two! Malachi eating a giant cookie that Aunt Janet gave him!
Malachi's dino tail!
Madelynn and Aiden's dino tails.
They were so exhausted that they crashed in someone's yard and wanted to sleep.

My 3 adorable dinosaurs!
We had a great time! We're hoping that next year will last a little longer so we can keep up with the rest of the family.
