Fourth of July

Fourth of July 2009 marks our trio's third Independence day, but the very first time they've gone to see the fireworks. We were really excited because we were hoping that this would be the first year that they'd be interested and they were. We drove to Brenda's house and had a cookout with lots of family and then visited until it was time to get ready for the fireworks. Brenda lives near a great park with lots of area to run, a stream that goes through it and many unique concrete bridges that pass back and forth over the creek. This park is a great place to take pictures, as I've done it lots of times before, but never with my own trio. More to come on that in another post!

We got to the park early so we walked around and let the kids run. We enjoyed elephant ears and Grandma Ketola bought the kids glow stick necklaces, which they loved! They were taken by suprise a little when the fireworks first began and Maddie wanted to sit with mom and dad right away, but they all really liked them. Aiden kept saying, "fireworks". Madelynn kept shouting out, "ights...ights...ights..." meaning 'lights', but she doesn't say the L sound. And the most precious moment of it all was about half way through the display when I looked over and Malachi (sitting in daddy's lap) put down his crunchies and started giggling and clapping while looking up into the sky. I could have just cried...it was so sweet! Of course the camera wasn't available since I had already ran it out of batteries earlier. That's all for tonight. Look for lots more from the weekend coming soon.

Happy 4th of July!!!
