I did a post on Madelynn quite awhile ago and so much happened that I never gave the boys their own posts, so here is Malachi's turn.
Malachi James is our first born and the first that I held. He looks a lot like me when I was younger, and he looks a lot different than his brother and sister. Malachi got his first name from me. I heard it in one of my favorite movies 'Save the Last Dance'. His middle name (James) came from his daddy, Joshua James.
He's a lover and cuddler. While he doesn't always know and acknowledge personal space (both his and that of others), he cares about his siblings and always asks, "okay?, okay?" when someone gets hurt or upset. He also tells them, "It's okay".
He loves animals, especially cats. Lately he's been acting like a kitty. He crawls all over and meows. He scratches his ears and likes it when you pet him like you would a cat. He has attempted to eat like a cat too, but thankfully it didn't last too long.
Recently, he's also been exploring with his eyes shut. He closes them and walks through the house...he's pretty good at it. He is certainly at the stage of 'if I close my eyes, you can't see me'.
Malachi is care free and generally happy in life. Oddly enough, he's the one I worry about the most. There is just something about him that makes me want to protect him...like he can't take care of himself. Maybe it's because he is my first born and the first I held. Maybe we just have a special connection. All that I know is he means the world to me and melts my heart each and every time he smiles at me. He even started calling me 'mommy' a few weeks ago and I cried every time I heard it or thought about it for the first two days!
As for an update with his ISD services, he's doing very well. He's talking more and is making more eye contact with us. Most importantly, he seems to be interacting with Aiden and Madelynn more often. That's always been a huge concern for me because he was a bit of a third wheel in the group. He's been playing with the other two a lot lately and since I'm hope with them right now, I get to see every moment of it! :)
Malachi is a special kid and will always hold a very special place in my heart...my first born child, my son, and one of the loves of my life.
